Balancing Fiscal Equity in School Budgeting

Every budget should be future-driven. The future is unpredictable; flexibility and adaptability are required. A budget should be viewed as a living, breathing document, and although it can be a helpful guide, modifications may be necessary. It is up to us as CSBOs to determine how to assist in allocating the right resources to all children. By properly distributing based on need, this allows students to maximize their achievement. It also permits staff to succeed to the fullest extent. Equity consists of unlocking maximum opportunities for all. It should be a major driver in our thoughts, planning and decisions.
