Unleashing Students to Achieve
Frequently, when I am asked to speak at various events, I start by asking a few questions. The work that we have been entrusted to do in education is of such significance that we either dismiss it because we are overwhelmed when attempting to wrap our arms around it, or we struggle to quantify it. In my attempt to run the balance of establishing a litmus test for the work, I frequently ask audiences, “Who is the child and/or children that you love the most?” Rooms light up when I ask the question, which is fun to watch. I would ask you the same, “Who is the child and/or children that you love the most?” And “Is this school good enough for them?” While this measurement can be sobering, it is also a joy to know the work we get to do significantly matters!
