Cybersecurity is no longer just an IT issue — it’s enterprise risk management. A significant cyber incident can disrupt district operations, draining time of key personnel and disabling crucial systems, such as accounting, email and student information systems (SIS) to name a few. Additionally, there are statutory obligations for notification to students’ family and/or staff who may have had personal identifiable information compromised. For the modern school district, cybersecurity is no longer just a technical concern, but an operational one.
